My husband's family has spent countless summers at the family house in Rehoboth - He and I wanted to try a new spot. Sad to say, this was a major disappointment. Margaritas were ok, but definitely not worth the $12/glass (steep even by the tourist town's standards) and all of the food seemed pre-made, nothing made in-house - crab soup, salmon with cilantro caper "sauce" - even the redskin mashed potatoes and veggie medley seemed to come from a package. Won't be back, wouldn't recommend :(

We spent a week in Rehoboth and stopped in to see Wayne and crew here nearly every day. Very welcoming! We brought a group of 18 for dinner one night and they did a great job accommodating us. Food is ok, good drink selection but the people made it worth the trip.

We always like to come to the Iguana Grill. The food is good, the restaurant is colorful, and they always accommodate us with our kids. This is very helpful. The kids like the chicken tenders and the crunchy fries I like the lobster tacos, and there's always good beer on tap (usually a Dogfish Head, since they're nearby). Burgers are ok, too. My wife had a tasty quesadilla, with chicken, cheese, and onions, with good guacamole on the side. All-in-all, decent food, good atmosphere, and good friendly service.

A Monday evening in August my children and I decided to stop in for a late dinner. We arrived at 8pm. There was no one inside but the porch had some tables full. Maybe five tables were occupied. We were seated right away and told our waiter would be with us soon. Well their version of 'soon' and mine are two different things. We waited nearly 15 minutes for a drink order. My kids ordered diet cokes. When they arrived they were clear. How does a waiter not notice this? Obviously we sent them back. We ordered a few minutes later. Nothing complicated. Nachos. Wings. Fish and chips and a bowl of soup. Clearly they ran to the grocery store for more tortilla chips cause it took a whopping 25 minutes to get the nachos. Then it was another 20 minutes for my soup to arrive. The wings followed five minutes later and finally the fish and chips arrived. It was a absurd. By the time we were served dinner it had been over an hour and fifteen minutes. And there were only four occupied tables. What is happening in that kitchen is a mystery. This is not complicated food. Oh....and not great food either. Our waiter was very apologetic. I felt badly for him. None of this was his fault. If they can't handle service on a slow night how do they do it on a busy summer weekend? I will not be retuning. I can get mediocre food elsewhere and in a more timely manner.

After coming to Rehoboth for twenty plus years, my family and I decided to change things up and try new places for our Fourth of July experience. We came to the Iguana Grill early on the fourth to make sure we got a table....got there 530 and got a table on the porch, no problem. I agree with other reviews that it is not very spacious but the outdoor scenery is nice. Two of us got the lobster tacos, as they were recommended as the best thing on the menu, while one opted to try the crabcake. The lobster tacos themselves get two five star ratings. The crabcake does not live up to its title on the menu as being 100% crab meat. The service here is what brings this down. It was not crowded at all surprisingly for the holiday weekend and maybe that should have been a concern. Our waitress Jill did not check on us AT ALL from when our food was delivered to when we sat there for about 10 minutes staring back and forth from our empty plates to the party at Aqua across the street. We needed more napkins and a drink refill but she checked on EVERY TABLE AROUND US except ours. We couldn't even catch her to try to get the napkins. I won't be back unless they do take out. Great food can be found elsewhere in Rehoboth, along with attentive service. Edit: forgot to add they won't split checks and they have a lot of other disclaimers at the bottom of the menu. be warned.

Order the spicy crab soup, you won't regret it. Best thing on the menu! Also had great fish and chips. Didn't care for the cole slaw, too much mayo buy everything else was great. My husband loved his lobster tacos. They are very accommodating for kids and lots of outdoor seating without a long wait at all.

It's a shame...love to patronize local businesses. Sadly this was not a great experience! Let's first start off with this lil nugget! The first day of a holiday how is a bar/restaurant in a resort area out of a particular alcohol! I know few people drink amaretto however, out of it??? Service was slow!!! Btw the place was slow! We ordered and it took ages. My "veggie burger" burger came. It was rubber! Obviously microwaved! Since they I'm sure are frozen out of a bag which btw I'm fine with, broiling them or even baking them would have prevented the hockey puck that came out! Remembering that the establishment hadn't been open much before the weekend, perhaps a lil more effort should have been put into preparing for a busy holiday!!

Don't get entrees. Just get apps! Very disappointed. With so many other options at rehoobth, and with the cost, you are able to get a better deal on a more quality meal. Wished I picked somewhere else. You can tell the crab cakes were frozen and the corn-soybean side was microwaved.

Simple but good sandwiches and wraps, this place has seating on its outdoor porch (nicer than the inside seating), always fun to people watch on Baltimore Ave. especially for lunch. Is it fine dining? No, but it's good for a fun lunch outside. We go here quite often and I can honestly say I've never had bad food. Service is typically speedy and friendly too.

Had lunch here and it was just OK. I got the quesadillas, which were greasy and the guac did not taste very fresh. Husband got a tuna steak sandwich which he said was OK, not bad but not great. Food was nothing memorable, but the flies were!

I love this place. I came across this place years ago with family and friends. I like the food and the ambiance. I love that dogs are welcome on the outside seating area. The food is delicious and the drinks are refreshing. I brought my boyfriend here a few months ago and I was happy to show him why I love it. It's just a quick walk to the beach and has a relaxed vacation feel. I would recommend this place to everyone. Great food, great area, great service, great price - what more could you ask for?

This place really isn't worth your time if you have other options availalble. We had bison burger, jerk chicken, lobster tacos, and quesadilla along with a round of margaritas. Some of the food was ok while other things like the lobster tacos were inedible. It's probably best to stick with the standards if you decided to dine here.

Pretty good nachos - the beef topping is actually steak and the nachos are quite loaded. We also had the calamari....below average for both the calamari and the marinara sauce. The Mexican Margarita which was supposed to be their deluxe drink (at $14 a pop, you would HOPE so!), left me sick to my stomach. I was thirsty so I drank the first one quickly and ordered a second. What a mistake. No buzz nearly $30 later but instead a really upset stomach. Get a beer instead. The atmosphere was divey but cool. Very beachy atmosphere with a small dining area inside and lots of seating outside on the porch.

This restaraunt is off the grid to most people. However, once I discovered it I have come back again and again. It is cozy and has great, fresh food. Terrific late lunch place.

I had the soft shell crab tacos which were just the right size for a nice lunch. My waitress was fine and she was handling 5 tables. It is a simple lunch sport-and one i would go return if in this area of Baltimore. The worst part of the equation was the parking. they don't have kiosks like bethany so make sure you bring lots of quarters since ticket writers are all over the place.

OK...I went against my word and ate there a few weeks ago and my experience was much better than last time....the wait staff was MUCH more pleasant and engaged then the past summer and the fish and chips I ordered were quite good...great location, nice porch....no complaints. YEAH!!!!

the shady porch and 1/2 off beers at happy hour (3 to 6) drew us in. Cool funky place with EXCELLENT fish tacos. And, I've tried a lot of fish tacos. Plus, they had Dogfish IPA on tap. The staff was very kind and efficient but not overly nice (which I appreciate). Plus, this spot is off the main, very busy, drag.

Party of 4 adults, 3 kids. Sat in the porch- highly recommended although my little one became dinner for the local mosquitoes. Kids menu was just regular fare- Mac and cheese, etc. my older who loves ribs didn't find them all that well (he is usually not picky). Mom had the crab cakes- very big and "crabby". I had the swordfish, which I thought was done well. I would add an extra half star for the vegetable medley as it seemed fresh and not from frozen. However, fries were not what we expect from Rehoboth. Also they added a 20% tip on top of the bill. Is that usual? Server was the friendliest we've met in the area so we just paid it as is.

Walked by many times over the past year and took some friends today for lunch. Had a Iguana margartia which was GREAT - melon flavored. Ordered the fish tacos which ended up being rather tasty! GREAT DRINKS and FOOD!! Stopped here for a late dinner while on vacation at rehoboth. The Drinks were very good here and they have alot of options for flavors!! Food was excellent!! They had the BEST calamari we have ever had!!! The flavors were so good and was kind of surprising I didn't expect this appetizer to be so good! I had the grilled swordfish and it was done perfectly! I recommend this place highly and it is place you need to visit when here at the beach. Staff was helpful and very plesant to deal with. The outside wall of this place is something to see as well since it is one huge mural of 6-7 iguanas!! Really Neat!!

Wow, I'm surprised to see the negative reviews for this place because normally I poo-poo everything that everyone else seems to love! I can't quite recall the entire menu, but I was a little surprised to see it classified as tex-mex on here. Every casual dining place seems to have nachos and quesadillas so I guess I don't really think of that as tex-mex specific fare. Anyway, I was paying more attention to the chef specialties for the day. I ended up defying my usual distaste for cooked fish and ordered the swordfish pasta. My little deviation paid off because the meal was fantastic. Perfectly cooked swordfish coated in a nice spicy cajun rub. The pasta was very lightly coated in the alfredo, bacon, and tomato sauce which I was actually worried about because it sounded so heavy. It was the perfect amount with a just enough to lightly coat the pasta. One nice touch is that the taco salads all come in a tomato tortilla bowl which is a nice change of pace from the usual flour tortilla. Not only was it a nice color, but it also was light and flaky as opposed to the usual heavy greasy feel of other tortilla bowls. I really liked the atmosphere of the place and waitstaff was very friendly. I like that you eat on the porch so it's not entirely outside, but still better than being crammed in the corner of a dark restaurant. And as Michelle mentioned, the sangria was excellent. Usually I think sangria tastes fruity and sweet, but this had a really bold, deep flavor to it.

Meh. I've experienced better is definitely an accurate assessment. Good luck finding a waitress to take your order even when there are literally 10 diners in the whole place. It was sangria day so we ordered a glass of white and red... seriously... yuck. The white tasted like cheap watered down white wine with no fruit. My boyfriend seemed satisfied with the red, but it wasn't that much better. He ordered a plate of shrimp and a salad, and I ordered the nachos with some crab meat. I know this wasn't a fancy place, but the shrimp came out a good 5 minutes before my nachos. Now the nachos were HUGE, but that was about the only positive. The ingredients didn't taste so fresh and when my boyfriend said, "I thought this had crab meat on it" I think that about summed it up.

If you take a chance to look off the main strip in Rehoboth, you will be happy to find many new and different places to check out. You may even suprise yourself by purchasing new flip flops, even thought you typically wear the same pair every day! Anyway, off the main drag is where we found iguana grill. Perfect for tackling my mexican craving. We were able to get a seat outside, and while the porch was slightly crowded, it was a great way to enjoy dinner. The service was very friendly and the food was great. I got the Taco salad with chicken, which looked small, but after starting to eat it seemed to never end! I didn't eat the tortilla shell, which was probably the only reason i was able to finish. I did try it and was shocked at the lightness, crispiness and overall not greasiness of it. I was very pleased! The salad was full of great tasting chili, fresh veggies and little chunks of chicken. Most people would probably not be as excited as i was about the chicken, but a personal pet peeve of mine is having to cut my salads so this was a welcome suprise. I also tried the sangria and it was awesome. You could taste the brandy, but it made it that much better. I think it might be the best sangria i ever had... and i've had a lot of sangria! One thing that typically bugs me about beach restaurants is how expensive they are. I mean people on vacation have to eat and want to drink fun, fancy drinks, so i think restaurants take advantage of that. Not at iguana. everything was very reasonably priced! A meal of $45 is definitely not outrageous for two people on a saturday night. This place is definitely worth straying off the main road for!

Decent lunch spot with a nice front porch dining area. They had a blueberry vodka lemonade - I can never resist this when i see it on the menu. I ordered a tuna steak sandwich rare and when it came out it was gray the whole way through - my server was super nice about taking it back and delivered my instructions to the cook to hardly cook it all. The new sandwich came out just right. Nothing spectacular here, but a good spot to do some people watching while eating lunch. Walked by it the next evening and it seemed to be more of a hot spot at night. I guess not everyone thinks margaritas are perfect at anytime of day.

I stumbled upon this place after sunbathing at a nearby beach and was craving some raw oysters. Although, this place didn't serve any raw oysters, I ended up staying since I was too hungry to try and look elsewhere. The staff were friendly, clams were D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S, chips and salsa were okay, the rest of the food... wahhh wahhh and upset. I would definitely come back strictly for the clams but nothing else...

I'm not sure about the tex-mex, but this place was solid. We had blackened Mahi and Crab cakes (the all-crab variety). While the veggies were indeed a bit mushy and the rice not inspiring, the cakes were pretty good -- no filler, all crab and piping hot. The real treat were the fried pepper/shrip/popper appetizer. That was excellent with the Sangria they had on special ($3.00 a glass, cant beat that!) Overall a good place, just dont expect tex or cali mex.

Yesterday was my first visit to Rehobath Beach, and I enjoyed catching sun and splashing around in the freezing cold water (I also managed to get stung by a small jellyfish, wheeee). When it came time for dinner, my wife and I were lead to a street by one of our friends who was a "veteran" of Rehobath. She took us to "amazing Tex-Mex" at Iguana Grill. Ugh. The place itself is pretty cool, lots of colors and a nice porch for enjoying a summer evening meal on. We didn't go inside, but the few glances I got showed a very large bar and a few tables, so I think that this mostly caters to the al fresco crowd. Service was spotty, with two waiters sort of tag teaming our table. When we weren't ready with our drink order after just sitting down, our main waiter sort of disappeared for about 10 minutes before coming to take our entire order. We rarely saw him again for the rest of the meal and our second waiter seemed to be pissed off to be alive. This place claimed to be Tex-Mex, but the only thing coming even close was a selection of quesadillas on the menu. We actually had to order chips and salsa, along with some guacamole, and those were pretty bad. The chips looked and tasted like they had cracked open a bag of tostitos in the kitchen, and the guacamole was just pureed avocados with no additional seasoning. My wife and one of our friends ordered quesadillas, which were boring and did not have an even melting of cheese. The only thing that made it taste good was by covering it guacamole and sour cream. I had a "Chesapeake Cake", which is supposed to be like a crab cake with pieces of shrimp and scallop mixed in. It sounded interesting when I ordered it, but it tasted as if all three had been frozen and reheated. A side of rice was completely bland, and the vegetables were soggy beyond belief. Drinks were also a disappointment. Margaritas had little flavoring, and were very watered down. Given the price of my wife's raspberry margarita, one would expect it to be made fresh with chambord, but it had little flavor of raspberries. Overall, a disappointing experience, but I suppose that is probably the general time that people have in a tourist haven such as Rehobath.

This is one of my favorite spots off the beaten path in Rehoboth. Not sure what happened with the other reviewers but I've had both the white sangria and the guacamole & chips and both were good (I actually highly recommend the guac!). A nice porch area to eat and an inside bar area with some tables as well, great happy hour specials, friendly wait staff, reasonable prices, decent menu. Doesn't get much better for a low-key seaside dining experience.

The last time we were at the Iguana Grill was a few years ago. It was a rainy day at the beach and we ducked in out of the rain from our shopping. Food and drinks were very good and we spent a fun few hours staying dry, eating and drinking. This time the food just wasn't as good and it wasn't as much fun. The place was nearly empty and the food was just ok. We had a chicken quesadilla and a burger.
